Product Features
The pipe features a smooth inner wall with a Hazen-Williams roughness coefficient of C=150, resulting in low friction loss during water transport. This allows for smaller diameter pipes for equivalent flow rates compared to pipes with higher friction coefficients.
HDPE material demonstrates resistance to fatigue, impact, and environmental stress cracking. When installed according to specifications, the pipe maintains its mechanical properties for a design life of 50 years. The material does not corrode or scale, preserving flow characteristics over time.
The pipe exhibits flexibility, allowing it to conform to terrain contours and absorb ground movement. It is compatible with standard HDPE fittings and fusion welding equipment. Heat fusion welding creates joints with strength equivalent to the pipe itself.
Product Uses
Mainline transmission pipelines (110mm to 630mm) for transporting water from sources to irrigation zones
Submain distribution lines (50mm to 110mm) delivering water to individual fields
Supply lines for center pivot and linear move irrigation systems
Buried mainlines and riser connections for solid-set sprinkler systems
Water delivery systems for greenhouses and nurseries, including fertigation applications
Industrial water supply and mining operations
Slip-lining rehabilitation of existing deteriorated pipelines
Hillside and sloping terrain installations
FAQ
HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) has higher strength, stiffness, and pressure rating than LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene). HDPE is used for mainlines and high-pressure applications, while LDPE is used for distribution lines and connections to emitters.
SDR (Standard Dimension Ratio) is the ratio of pipe diameter to wall thickness. Lower SDR numbers indicate thicker walls and higher pressure ratings. For example, SDR11 has thicker walls and higher pressure capacity than SDR26.
HDPE pipe can be used above ground. For permanent above-ground installations, UV-stabilized pipe with carbon black should be used, and proper supports should be provided at regular intervals to prevent sagging.
HDPE pipe has a design life of 50+ years when installed and operated within recommended pressure and temperature ranges.
HDPE pipe can be joined using butt fusion welding, electrofusion welding, compression fittings, flanged connections, and mechanical stab fittings. Fusion welding creates joints that are as strong as the pipe itself.
